Sherry Anderson, RN, BSN
Sherry Anderson has practiced nursing
for 26 years - 10 years in critical care, and 18 years in
Manager/Director roles. The past 10 years her focus has been
in quality improvement initiatives that develop and foster
shared accountability across departmental lines. Sherry is
currently the Director of Nursing Float Pool and serves as an
Internal Quality Improvement Consultant. Her quality
improvement initiatives have provided her with the opportunity
to speak at national and international conferences. Some of
her speaking engagements have included the American Society of
Healthcare System Pharmacists (ASHP) annual Midyear
conference, the National Association of Healthcare Quality (NAHQ)
Annual Educational conference, and the Institute for
Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Reducing Adverse Drug Events
collaborative.
Steven J. Backes
Steve Backes is President and CEO of IZEX Technologies, Inc., a
Minneapolis-based company that is developing patented distance
rehabilitation solutions. Steve has specialized in emerging
technologies in the healthcare and financial services
industries for eighteen years. Previous industry experience
includes being co-founder and president of Dexma, Inc., a
leader in Internet-based business transaction services in the
financial services industry; as a manager with Andersen
Consulting (now Accenture) deploying new technologies at major
U.S. healthcare and financial services companies; and as a
systems engineer specializing in imaging and workflow systems
with Plexus Computers of San Jose, CA. Steve has a B.S. in
Quantitative Methods and Information Systems from St. Cloud
State University.
Steve F. Fischer
Mr.
Fischer has a broad base of industry experience. In the
medical
industry, as the CIO for the Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI)
he has been involved in selection of Radiology Information
Systems, voice recognition and PAC's systems for this 20+
centers outpatient imaging company. Prior experience in health
care included Director of HMO Systems for Aetna/USHealthcare
and ValueRX. Mr. Fischer's non medical system experience
includes, CIO for Apogee Enterprises' Glass Services Division
(Harmon Autoglass, Wassau Window Wall, TruVue, and Lin-Tec
companies) and General Manager for a software company.

Fleek
Corey
Fleek is the Mid-West Account Manager for eWebCoding. He
began his career in health care working for a dictation and
transcription vendor in 1992. Over an 8 year period he
successfully helped hundreds of hospitals establish productive
home based transcription programs. Today, his focus is the
same with a slightly different target- coding. Over 150
hospitals nationwide utilize eWebCoding with more than 800
coders whose productivity is up by an average of 20%.
Mark
Jamieson
As
Dictaphone’s Regional Product Sales Director, Mark Jamieson is
responsible for implementing speech recognition strategy for
Dictaphone’s Health Care Solutions Group in Northern North
America. Mark has been involved with speech recognition and
how it fits in the workflow for over 5 years, and has been
working with the challenges of medical documentation with
Dictaphone since 1990. Mark has a BA from the University of
Arizona and has earned a certificate from the Kellogg School
of Business, Northwestern University.
Russell
F. Lewis
Russell Lewis is Sr. Vice President and
Chief Operating Officer, Bridge Medical Inc. Before joining Bridge he served as
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of McKesson
HBOC's Information Technology Business. For the last 20 years,
Mr. Lewis has been involved in research and product
development for many leading technology companies, including
HBOC, Ameritech, Knowledge Data Systems and Texas Instruments.
He holds degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics and has
over 20 US and international patents. Mr. Lewis has served for
three years on the MS-HUG Board of Directors and is on the
board of HealthAsyst a healthcare software services company.
In addition, Mr. Lewis is the editor of a recent HIMSS book
entitled “ The Impact of Information Technology on Patient
Safety”.
Kathy
Nielsen
Kathy
Nielsen has been the Regions Hospital Transcription Manager
for the last 8 years. She has a total of 30 years experience
in hospital transcription. She has implemented the
Dictaphone Voice, Text and Speech Recognition systems at
Regions Hospital over the past 6 years.
Dennis
J. O’Donnell, MHA, PT, SCS, CSCS
Dennis
O’Donnell is the Director of the Institute for Athletic
Medicine (IAM) in Minneapolis with more than 15 years
experience in physical therapy and practice management. He is
also a Executive Director of the Minneapolis Sports Medicine
Center, National Level Instructor at the Dogwood Institute
(Atlanta, GA), curriculum advisor at the College of St.
Catherine (Minneapolis), and a board member of the
International Strength Building Council. Dennis received a
B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and an M.S. in Health Care Administration
from the Carlson School of Management at the University of
Minnesota.
John
Peterson
John Peterson is a graduate of MIT with a Bachelor's of Science
in Computer Science. John spent 13 years with a major minicomputer
manufacturer- two of which were on an overseas assignment
to Australia. The last 12 years, John has been based in Minnesota
in Sales and Marketing positions for software firms. Currently,
he is Vice President of Sales and Marketing with VarIT, a
firm dedicated and focused on providing business solutions
that make use of handheld devices.
Pam
Swanson
Pam is
an ichart Sales Specialist with Dictaphone’s Advanced
Medical Technologies Group. She has an extensive background
in healthcare operations which includes acute care, clinic,
home health and long term care. This experience gives her a
unique understanding and appreciation of the challenges facing
health care organizations.
