HIMSS-MN Board Nominations and Elections

Have you ever thought about contributing to the Board of the Minnesota Chapter of HIMSS? Now is your opportunity to get involved! The board is currently looking for chapter members passionate about healthcare information technology to help with our chapter educational programs and operations.

Nominations are now open for board positions for the upcoming fiscal year, July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

The board consists of two main categories of positions: elected and appointed.
 
Elected positions
All elected officers must be members of National HIMSS and are elected by ballot:
  • President-Elect
  • Secretary   
  • Treasurer is a two-year term and is not up for election this year
 
Appointed positions
These positions are nominated and appointed by the board:
  • Program Director (2 positions)
  • Member Relations Chair
  • Sponsorship Director
  • Professional Development Director
  • Outreach Chair
  • National Advocacy Liaison
  • Regional Directors
  • Communications Director
  • At Large Directors (3 positions)

Board Nomination and Election Timeline
March 4 - Board Nominations open
March 28 - Board Nominations close
April 7 - Ballots emailed for elected positions
May 2 - Elections close

Nomination Process
If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for one of the elected or appointed board positions, email Dan Davenport (president-elect@himss-mn.org) prior to March 28, 2008 with the subject line "NOMINATION." Please include the position in which you interested in the body of the email.
