Discount Offering for National HIMSS - Dana
Dana has a discount coupon for the National HIMSS event and offered it to the board, as her company will be paying for her attendance. No board member present could confirm whether or not they could use the coupon. Dana will send an e-mail to all board members offering this coupon.

Innovation Award Discussion - Shawna/Dana
Shawna still is working on the application. Please refer to her email request to see if there is information that she needs from you.

Program Updates/Plans - Jeff
- September program update - per Shawna, the Dairyland (WI) chapter board is interested in having a video link to our September event. Onvoy is talking with them about the link. Dairyland is interested in partnering in future events if this goes well.
HealthPartners may have a larger room, we will know when we get there. It is OK for us to bring our own food to the event. Testing will be next week. Jeff will talk to Clark about promoting the event.
- December program update - Jeff has had the first meeting with the planning committee for this event and does have presenters for the event. Topic will be "Secure Clinical Messaging". It was pointed out that Rochester would like our events to be more "IT" oriented.

Scholarship Program - Scott
After discussion, it was agreed by the board to give a one-year membership to the MN Chapter to all entrants. Application date would be in the first semester, deadline for submission would be the end of the month January. Board also agreed to strike the line in the application requesting the applicant name a mentor. No mentor will be need for future submissions. With these changes, Scott can re-post the scholarship information on the website.

Sponsorship Update - Stephen P. (absent)
Per Cindy, we did receive a sponsorship check from Stone Bridge. No other update had been received from Stephen prior to the meeting.

Treasurers Report - Cindy
Cindy and Van are working together to submit the IRS 990EZ form as our income was over non-filing limits. We have five months to send in the form. Van is looking into whether we need to file State forms also.
July 1 through September 8 income was $2,807.03, total liabilities and equity was $27,078.31.

Publishing Update - Tom
Quarterly newsletter went out 2 weeks ago, event notification went out last week and will go out again the Monday before the event (9-22).

Membership Update - Scott
National members = 220, Chapter-only members = 19, Student members = 12, total membership = 251.
Demographic breakdown: Twin Cities membership = 72% of whole, Duluth membership = 3% of whole, Rochester membership = 19% of whole, Outstate (including St. Cloud) membership = 6% of whole. Non-MN members: FL = 1, MA = 1, MO = 1, ND = 1, SD = 3.

Educational Update - Ray
has submitted for CPHIMSS credits for September event.
